COLT CONFERENCE

Vinita FFA Senior Officer team participates in leadership trainings on a state level to better prepare them to help the chapter members to succeed in chapter activities. COLT conference is held each year in September to focus on leadership opportunities to bring back to their home chapters. The Vinita FFA has 3 leadership teams. The senior team members are 11th and 12th grade chapter members; the junior team members are 9th and 10th grade chapter members; the 8th grade team members are all 8th graders. This range of ages gives chapter members an opportunity to ease into leadership as age appropriate. The baseline of leadership for our officers is to be servants of the chapter members. Titles are very insignificant because taking care of others is the main objective for leaders. “Leaders aren’t born, but trained” is a theme Vinita FFA uses to help give all chapter members abilities to be successful. Each chapter member is given a part of leadership in any area in which they have an interest. Members may not want to serve on the officer team for the chapter but will learn how to be a leader in the career, family and community aspects. Leadership opens the door for success for the Vinita FFA chapter members.
